It’s another important weekend for Northeastern sports, and we’re here to break it all down for you. join us this afternoon, and give us your thoughts on the weekend’s games, whether you’re in Boston or Richmond.
Huskies basketball has a tremendous opportunity to win the CAA this year, but they’ll have to face Hofstra in the first round of the conference tournament. What are the Huskies’ chances, and what will be the keys to victory?
Northeastern and Boston University clash in the final series of the regular season, with the playoffs on the line. Who will come out on top, and what are some of the possible scenarios in Hockey East?
All that and more on the Spring Break edition of the Dog Pound Sports Sound - the action starts at 3:00pm on air and online.
It’s a 3-hour version of the Big Show today, and we’re excited to bring it to you. Northeastern has an epic sports weekend upcoming, and we’ll preview every bit of it:
Northeastern hockey has a pivotal series against Boston College. It’s anticipated to be another sellout at Matthews Arena, bringing the old barn back to life. We’ll preview the game plus dissect what the greater implications are in Hockey East for both teams
As you should know by now, Northeastern basketball is on ESPN2 tomorrow afternoon at the Arena against Louisiana Tech. We’ll let you know what to look for plus talk about what NU has to gain (or lose) in this Bracketbuster game.
Can the CAA get two bids? W&M and Old Dominion have had good seasons, but will it be enough for the Colonial to get more than one in the Big Dance? There will definitely be an argument.
At the end of the show, we’ll ‘go national’ and debate the week’s hottest sports topics.
Tune in for the full show, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. live on WRBB and WRBBsports.com
Just because we’re traveling out to UMass for tonight’s game doesn’t mean you don’t get the standard Dog Pound calamity on Friday! Listen this afternoon for our always-impassioned thoughts on everything Huskies sports…
Andrew Parente drops by the studio to talk Huskies basketball, specifically why this year’s team won’t have the drop off we’ve seen in the past.
We argue (again?!?) about the leadership on the basketball team. Jared Shafran will try to reestablish his argument from last week’s show, but this time he’ll have to spar with host Keith Lavon.
If you haven’t noticed, the Boston Herald has boycotted coverage of Northeastern athletics. Why did this happen, who’s to blame, and what are the continuing consequences?
Plus, if you didn’t catch last night’s Hockey East This Week, we’ve got hockey talk coming at you as well.
It all starts at 3 p.m. on WRBB and streaming worldwide at WRBBSports.com!
Hour 1: Basketball continues its hot run, how far can they go, and what about getting students out to the game? Will Klaynman calls in and the N-Zone’s Darren Costa stops by.
Hour 2: Hockey’s back - we break down the Beanpot and lay out what the rest of the season holds.
Due to a combination of logistical problems (maybe), a thin staff (perhaps), and overall laziness (most likely), we’ll be swapping in and out different hosts this week. Don’t worry, you’ll still be treated to the same quality programming as always on a Friday afternoon. Here’s what we have for you:
Darren Costa stops by to talk about the N Zone, Bracketbusters, and anything else related to Huskies basketball.
Alex Faust calls in to talk some Huskies hockey before a big game against Merrimack tonight.
We recap the Beanpot, a major win at home and a blowout victory on the road for basketball, and look at the prospects for the post-season.
All the banter you love keeps you entertained, and the Husky Hotwire keeps you up-to-date every 30 minutes.
We’re well-aware that Northeastern basketball is in the midst of a large winning streak, but that’s not the only Huskies sports story out there. We’ll preview the weekend and impart our NU sports knowledge to you.
Yeah, so about that winning streak. It’s at 10, so the one question is - will it go to 11? Jason and Will stop by to give us the important details about Saturday’s game.
There’s also a fan buzz about the game, we’ll look at some of the efforts in progress to get students out to the game.
Northeastern hockey won two out of three games this past week - is the worst behind them, or will injuries continue to drag this team along?
Women’s hockey is doing well - 1st in Hockey East, 8th in the nation, and finally got a non-losing decision against UNH earlier this week. Are they headed for an NCAA tournament bid?
Plus, as always, we’ll get to anything else that’s relevant to Huskies Nation (a.k.a. the NFL playoffs)
It all starts at 3 p.m. tomorrow, and remember (just like our newspaper ad said on Thursday), the opinions expressed are not those of Northeastern University. And we like it that way.
Sam Houston State narrowly survives over Southeastern Louisiana in the Southland semis. NU can't afford any more No. 1 seeds going down.
