With the calendar turning to spring, WRBB turns its attention back to a spring tradition – Northeastern baseball. The Huskies are looking to rebound from a tough 2010 season in which they finished last in the CAA. The team has already started league play, and we’re bringing you an expanded offering of broadcasts this spring on WRBB-FM and WRBB Sports Extra.
The highlight of the schedule is the 22nd annual Baseball Beanpot. This year, the Huskies take on defending champions Boston College in the opening round at LeLacheur Park, home of the Red Sox single-A affiliate Lowell Spinners. The following week, the championship and consolation games return to historic Fenway Park, with a prime-time championship game beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Most broadcasts begin with pre-game coverage 10 minutes prior to first pitch, with expanded pre and-post-game coverage for the Baseball Beanpot. The below schedule of games is tentative, as additional games may be added and others may be changed due to weather or other circumstances:
