TJ Williams had 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists as Northeastern defeated UConn for the first time since the 1985-86 season Monday night at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.

Alex Murphy contributed 9 points and 15 rebounds as the experience of Northeastern prevailed in a closely contested battle against a youthful UConn team. Northeastern, who led for the majority of the first half, fell behind 40-36 early in the second half. They fought back, going on a 13-4 run topped off by back-to-back threes by Williams. The Huskies never looked back, and held on for a 64-61 victory. They are now 2-0 on the season.

Up next for the Huskies are three consecutive games in the Steve Wright Classic this weekend. They will get a rematch against Boston University on Friday night before finishing off the weekend with games against LIU-Brooklyn and Maine.
