It’s a 3-hour version of the Big Show today, and we’re excited to bring it to you. Northeastern has an epic sports weekend upcoming, and we’ll preview every bit of it:
- Northeastern hockey has a pivotal series against Boston College. It’s anticipated to be another sellout at Matthews Arena, bringing the old barn back to life. We’ll preview the game plus dissect what the greater implications are in Hockey East for both teams
- As you should know by now, Northeastern basketball is on ESPN2 tomorrow afternoon at the Arena against Louisiana Tech. We’ll let you know what to look for plus talk about what NU has to gain (or lose) in this Bracketbuster game.
- Can the CAA get two bids? W&M and Old Dominion have had good seasons, but will it be enough for the Colonial to get more than one in the Big Dance? There will definitely be an argument.
- At the end of the show, we’ll ‘go national’ and debate the week’s hottest sports topics.

It’s been a while, and it’s good to be back. While men’s basketball has been stuck in the middle of the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 poll, Northeastern hockey hasn’t seen the pollercoaster since this feature ran on November 11th. A lot has happened since then. At that point hockey was on the highest of highs, defeating Boston University at home. The team has experienced rock bottom, a 9-2 drubbing in Burlington, Vermont. Since that blowout, the Huskies are 6-1. Add to that wins against teams under consideration (Lowell, UMass, Vermont), and NU once again becomes a team represented in the most recent USCHO poll.
So, how does Northeastern stand in those polls? Read more…
