NU women’s hockey to play at Fenway in January

Hockey East officially announced this morning that the women’s hockey teams from Northeastern and the University of New Hampshire will compete in the first half of a college hockey doubleheader at Fenway Park on January 8th, 2009. The game will be the first ever outdoor women’s hockey game, and is expected to shatter the single-game record for attendance at an NCAA women’s hockey game. The current record is 6,854, set when Minnesota played its first women’s hockey game in the fall of 1997.
Tickets for the doubleheader will start at $5 and prices are capped at $99. More ticket information can be found here.
