On our final full day in Hawaii the Huskies get there first victory of the holiday road trip with a statement victory against Southern Methodist University. After a 6 a.m. wake up call we boarded the bus and headed over to the stadium. From the time this team entered the stadium for warm-ups, to the opening tip all the way through the rest of the game this team had some extra hop in there step.
This was a critical game for the Huskies to get back on top and the whole team stepped up. Terrific unselfish play by the Huskies, coupled with awful fundamentals by SMU led to a Husky victory. They controlled the game from the opening tip and now we enjoy our final rays of sun while in Hawaii before heading to California. We fly out tomorrow afternoon, for a 6-hour flight to the San Francisco area and then we will bus it down to Santa Clara for the tournament.
The team will have two full days to prepare for their first game against the host team for the Cable Car Classic, Santa Clara University. It should be a lot of fun and myself and Will are going to take you through all the action. Look out for more blog posts and tweets as we still have 6 days left on this holiday road trip as the Huskies still have an opportunity to come out of this trip with winning record. Merry Christmas to everybody as myself and Will would like to give a special happy holidays to our families back home. Aloha and talk to you all soon.
