Quailer to miss time with ACL injury
WRBB has confirmed from a source familiar with the team that Steve Quailer suffered an ACL injury during the team’s exhibition game against St. Thomas. At this time it is not known if Quailer will need surgery, or the severity of the injury. Quailer was seen on campus walking without crutches.
However, if it is a torn ACL, the timetable is generally 6-7 months without strain on the knee. Someone of Quailer’s physical ability might be able to shorten that by a few months if rehabilitation goes well. If it is only an ACL strain, the timetable for return could be as short as two months.
Last season with the Huskies, Quailer scored 10 goals and added 15 assists. Quailer was named to the 2008 Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Quailer was also a 2008 Montreal Canadiens 3rd round draft pick.
